Eta.

The word rang in her ear countless times over. Slowly the Persian lifted her head up just enough so that she could see the creature that had uttered the sound.

He had come back! He was lying right next to her! Shock, joy, and an uncountable amount of other emotions, in seconds, filled her heart, mending the cracks and breaks that it had just endured. White whiskers lifted up off of the pudgy face of the female as her whole essence brightened.

Brokendeath practically plunged herself into the tom's side; so many feelings that she could not explain making her purr loud as the stream. The rough cooing continued on as she slowly and gracefully brushed his flank with her cheek. So much had happened so quickly, and a rush was just all over her.

Now she didn't know what to think about anything, especially Starclan. The Ghostclan she-cat felt as light as air and felt nothing but warmth all over her body as she lay with the grey-blue tom.

Partially tackled, he assumed out of joy, Lyer let out a small, 'cute' 'oomff'. To the best of his feline ability, he let out a smile. When the purring came in, he couldn't help but join her. He was...giddy.

And one day, I pray, that Starclan will bless my little one with love... And now her prayer had come true. Most of his life he ignored that little line she prayed over him every night. Most of the time, he pushed it away, aside so that it wouldn't remind him of his mother's best wishes. Now, he knew, there was no need.

"They call me Lyer, kit of the Strings." He mewed softly into her ear, his own voice like the instrument he was dubbed after. "And what do they call you?"

Comfort was abundant as vibrations purred throughout her body from the tom Lyer. Asking of her name in all of this happiness was like a 2 point karma deduction, but her spirits were too high to care.

" 'They' who? No one calls for me but my hunting. 'They', 'they' do not exisit...anymore." she paused. She had stopped purring as she thought of her life before this current day. "My mother once called me a luminous soul," she continued "but throughout my life I've had many troubles and sad times, so 'they' said that they shall name me Brokendeath." she paused again. Her head had been down slightly in regret and soon lifted up with hope sparkling in her chocolate and ice eyes. "But that time is no more. Starting my new life with you, I will be known as Luminoussoul, after my mother's words." she announced and started purring once more.

A quick lick of her rough tongue swiped across the tom's cheek and Luminoussoul then clotted the top of her head into an admiring pose against his neck; looking up at her new mate with love.

'Mother, wherever you are, I hope you can see me now. you were always right. I did find love; and I shame all of those cats that believed bad and negitive things about me. I miss you mother. I wish you were here.'

Pushing the quick thought that had popped into her head away, she came back to reality and continued to cherish her newly begotten life.

"Luminoussoul..." He whispered, cherishing the words. "My beautiful, the piece I had been missing for so long..."

His eyes were trapped in hers as she looked up at him, the lick forever to be remembered on his cheek. Every pulse of his blood was high, completely hung by his every emotion that took over his brain cells. One was dark, the other light- like her on the inside. Eyes had always been the window to the within. His attention was then caught by the scar on her nose that sparkled like the water's edge.

Reaching down, he touched it gently with his own nose, half closing his eyes. His nose was the only warm part of his body, it seemed to him. He barely touched her, afraid that it might still be slightly painful. He has one thought in his mind, and he didn't think that it needed to be said.

Let me be your comfort, as you have to me.

Since their first visit they had only seen each other a few times before Leaf-Bare finally settled itself in. After that, they were cut off from each other completely. All through the cold season, as snow fell and the stream froze over, Lyer was no where to be found. Luminoussoul had checked their spot at the same time every moon that they had agreed to meet. He was never there.

Three moons had passed, and she still was checking for her love. Every time she was near the icy water she had her senses search the barren land for any sign of another cat. Yet none was ever to be found. New-Leaf was coming to it's beginning and she prayed that with the new life and warm weather that her mate would return and complete her once again. She could hardly stand being alone after such wonderful times with the loner, and no other cat had known about her new name. So she had to listen to the same cats treat her with disrespect and call her by her most hated name: Brokendeath. She almost snapped a few times, and if she hadn't remembered her dear, she probably would have killed half the clan. Biting her tongue had become almost a habit of hers and she had to be careful not to slip something or worse pierce her tongue.

After another two and a half moons Luminoussoul was checking the stream less often. She would sniff a bit for any sign of a cat if she happened to pad by, and she continued to come on their date, but she still had no luck. It seemed as if Lyer would never come back.

Now, once again the white she-cat was checking on the stream for it was that time of moon, and she was padding silently in the secret of the night as she always had. But tonight, something seemed different. Just the whole of the atmosphere was unrecognizable. The Persian dropped into a low-to-the-ground stalk and quietly approached the stream. She crossed over the hidden stones and lay down in her spot, the spot that she had laid with the grey-blue catastrophe the first time they had met, the same place that she laid down every time this time of moon came around; and she waited, she waited with small hope for her love to arrive.

"I'm sorry I couldn't get to you over the season." Lyer mewed timidly. he held his head low. He felt horrible about keeping her waiting so long. He was glad she was alive after the harsh season, and if not mentally, physically well. At least she had been able to ride the winter's chill.

Lyer, being a loner, didn't have that luck. He spent most of his winter under a two-leg's porch, or in a dead dog's den. Many of the animals, both prey, predator, rival and comrade alike, had frozen to death under the fast laying sheets of hail overnight. Lyer was convinced that it was Luminous' constant underbreath prayers that kept him alive from morning to morning. For this, he was truly grateful. He would wake, and first thing, thank Starclan for protecting him.

Now, the sleet had vanished, and spring was taking over rapidly. Just as harsh Winter had been, Spring was blooming in just as strong. Some of the survivors almost overheated from the drastic changes- and were thankful for it. Lyer, especially, and this had been his first opportunity to leave the Two-leg places and return to the She-cat that kept his heart warm all the season long.

"I hope you'll forgive me for it."

((that's how the weather has actually been lately. I counted 12 frozen squirrels over the wintertime.))

The she-cat's head stifled upward as the voice spoke. 'I must be hearing things. If only he really were here. I guess I really miss him that much.' she sighed. 'I hope he's alright. this Leaf-bare was pretty harsh, but after this thaw I'd think he'd of come back by now... Now he's really got me worried... "Oh, Lyer, where are you? I miss you so much that your voice haunts my mind! I feel as if I am going insane without you my love. I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm not whole. I never was until I met you, and when you left I was emptied once again. Please come back to me! Starclan, keep my Lyer safe. Keep my Lyer safe..." she whispered and trailed off at the end of her prayer.

The poor white she-cat had no idea that her companion was really there, right behind her, returning from his winter hide-away, and waiting for her rejoice. No. Luminoussoul thought that she was alone, just like every other night of the moon that shone brightly above her at this same moment after her other half had left for shelter from the harsh winds and snows. And she then plummeted her face into her paw once again in grief and disappointment, cursing her lack of tear-ducts.

He let out a small laugh. Her skull was as thick as her fur sometimes. He padded forward, and knew that he had been forgiven for his 'crime'. Even now, as the weather nursed it's living back to health, she prayed for his well-being.

"We are two halves, perfectly suited for another. What once served as rough repelling edges locks us together and we form a gentle whole. Never before was there such a pair as You and I." He cooed softly. Lyer cradled her with his body, resting his chin on her shoulder. He twisted his tail about hers, and listened to her breathe. "And the spring blooms with our joy."

(( :o :D OMG Flame! You're so poetic and creative! I wish I could write like that! Looks like I need to do some dictionary reading! ((not that I haven't. I'm reading the unabridged version of The Hound of the Baskervilles- a Sherlock Holmes Mystery...)) ))

Shock overwhelmed her. He had come back! She hadn't been hearing things! As he lay his head on her shoulder and lean against her she purred contently. And as he intertwined his tail with hers, she lifted her head from her paw and rested it on his front paws, vibrating them and they vibrated back sending a tickle through her front quarters. Luminoussoul turned her head up bias and licked her love's neck fur, fluffing it as she had fluffed it before.

Taking a better look at him, from what she could see of his body from the angle in which she was looking at, he had become scrawny and lean, even more so of than when she had last seen him. He obviously hadn't had much to survive on all season. She decided that she would hunt for him, soon; she didn't want to ruin the moment. She knew that he could hunt for himself, but it was Ghostclan territory, so if the 1% chance of him being caught occurred, he could be hurt badly in his state: furthermore, she herself could be as well if they were to be caught together. Besides, she knew how he felt about hunting on other territories.

((Honestly it's rare I get that good with things. Normally my stuff is crap. XD And I read it way back when. Love that Hound.))

"I missed you too." He purred madly as she fluffed his fur, matching her own purring patterns. Dreams of this had saved him over the nights, and wishes of her back with him kept him prodding over the sleet during the day. It's amazing what love could pull one through.

He wanted to say something more, but words failed him. He just rested in the care of his Love, the one Starclan had blessed him so deeply with. Where would he have been this winter if it wasn't for Luminoussoul? Under the sleet. And would ti be similar for her? Would she had put up with the harsh season and clan if it wasn't for loving him?

What was past, passed well. Now they were back together, and with all the good weather upon them, he was going to figure out a way to sneak in every moment he could afford, without getting caught. he knew eventually Ghostclan would catch him, and he hoped alone. Until then...until then it was just the two of them.

"I thank Starclan for you."

(I finished it! woot! Now...the report.... :'( Cliff-Notes=bff ;) :D)

Her wide, rough tongue continued to fluff his fur, licking with a soft curl to bring it out to it's fullest potential. The blue-gray coat was beginning to fill out. She finished the one side of his neck and moved to the under-side, fluffing it out as best she could.

A mouse scurried past fast; and with a quick eye and claw, the white cat snatched it up with skill. She leaned over to retrieve it from the hook of her claw with her teeth and snapped it's back, so that it'd still be alive, just paralyzed. Just like the one she had caught on the day she first met Lyer. She lifted her head up and met her eyes to his, the morsel still in her grasp, as she mentioned to share her catch with the Blue.

The Persian she-cat placed the wood mouse on the grass in between his paws and then her face went a little weary. She dared go straight for the obvious. "So, what happens now?" Luminoussoul asked her mate as she looked up at him intently. "What happens now? We're together again and I don't want that to change! What do we do Lyer? I don't want to ever loose you ever again."

"Well," He sighed. He took the mouse and tore it in two,, giving one piece to her, and keeping a half for himself. His fur felt wonderful, the way she broomed it. He wanted to fall asleep in her paws, resting in the warming sunshine. That had to wait, however, for he also wanted to stay that way. "We have three choices."

He drew a dramatically rough map of territories, the lands nearby, and all that, with his claws. With his tail, he began to tell of the three choices they had.

"One, I could join Ghostclan. It came from loners and kittypets, so it wouldn't be too hard, but I doubt you want to stay here. They don't treat you well, and I want no part in that. However, we won't be separated."
"Together, we could move to another clan. However, it would be rough new lives for the both of us, and we will both be frowned upon for about an apprentice's worth of moons. We would have the comfort of the clan eventually, and we won't be separated."
"That leaves us with one last option, you becoming a loner with me. However, winters will be harsh, but our lives free. The only thing can separate us is Death."
He sighed, and licked the top of her head warmly, taking in her scent.
"One thing is for sure, we have to do one of the three if we are to continue. I'm not going to loose contact with you again."

He brushed up against her pelt, purring deeply. With his tail he hugged her close to his underchest, hsi chin resting on her shoulder. "You're all I have."

((umm...Flame...it;s nighttime...member?)) (You always know what to say! It's like writer's block can't afflict your ever imaginative mind! I wish I could do that...I have hardly any imagination and it sucks...my brother is the imaginative one...I would have had writers block for like a month after my last post thats why I didn't post more than i did. I barely thought that up.)

"All I ever had was my mother; after she died I had nothing. You're all I have love." She for a moment or two just lay there with her mate and cuddled, and thought.

If Lyer joined joined Ghostclan, well, then, her problems wouldn't go away, they'd just be on her mate as well, and she didn't want that.

If they joined another clan, they'd be safe and have a place to stay and eat, but they'd be in battles for territory and other pointless things. Plus it would, as Lyer said, take a long time for them to be trusted.

The only other choice Lyer named was that she became a loner and lived with him where ever the wind blew them. They wouldn't have to worry about fighting or trust, but they'd have hard Leaf-bares and wouldn't always have a safe place to rest and raise kits. And she wanted kits. She had always wanted kits. And she couldn't wait. If she became a loner, and had kits now, 2moons later it'd be just about to be the beginning of Leaf-Fall. By the time the cold cames in at the end of Leaf-Fall, their kits would be about 3moons old; old enough to survive Leaf-Bare! It was all going to work out fine. Luminoussoul was going to become a loner.

"Lyer," she meowed with a soft lick up his chest fur. "I want to become a loner and go off with you. I've thought it through and it's the only wise choice. I'm going to be a loner." she finished proudly with a purr. She was going to be with her love forever and ever now, and she sure was happy about it. "And loners usually have shorter names don't they? Names that aren't two parts like clan names, right? So I'm gonna be just Luminous now. Soul will be like my second name or something. Like ''Brooke'''where small fish swim's' was, kinda, -ish." she purred cheerfully. She was just overjoyed with her new life.

"And, Lyer," she continued. "There's one more thing I want to say. . ." she waited a few seconds so all she had said before could have a little more time to sink in. But she couldn't wait any longer and just blurted it out. The idea just made her so excited. "I want to have kits! I can't wait to have kits! And I've always wanted kits!"

His ear happily twitched as her loud words tore through his ear canal, almost blowing them out. Yet, he did not move from his place in their feline embrace. He left his ear by her lips, listening to her breathe. His soft purr kept a quiet pace, letting her ecstatic patterns fill his heart. There was no way he could be happier.

If we are to leave this clan, then we must get moving before dawn... He noted softly in his own mind. He let his purr grow in volume, for his next words. he began to rise form hi place, taking the first steps to leave the clan borders. His eyes captured the Stars' lights, sparkling, glistening like the moonstone. He could not help but smile, his sharp teeth reflecting the light of the moon. He was caught in the moment, and he rose to her ear to speak.

"Let us not rest,
In this foul place,
We are not bound here,
Let use make haste.

We now shall ride,
Upon the wind's wild,
Let us return home,
Where you may bear child.

Come,
Let us leave,
Clans need not your presence,
Now that you belong

To Me.

Lyer Straitened his paws, and turned his entire body, with the exception of his head, toward his home outside of the wood...No. Their home outside of the wood. Yes, it belong not only to him, but his love now. And soon, it would be also home to a few, small bodied others.

Thank you... He mewed through his heart. Thank you, Starclan, for her...
